Iris van Herpen and Parley For The Oceans design five dresses

Iris van Herpen and Parley For The Oceans join forces for a charitable cause: reusing marine debris to design new garments. The waste found on different coasts around the world finds a new life in the “Earthrise” collection.

Dutch designer, Iris van Herpen, is known worldwide for her innovative designs drawn from the fusion between technology and the craftsmanship of haute couture. A pioneer in 3D art applied to fashion, she has joined forces with Parley For The Oceans to create new garments. Thus, recycled marine debris has been recovered and reinterpreted in five dresses that make up the Earthrise collection.

Among the new creations is the Magnetosphere dress, co-designed with Rogan Brown. It is a piece that has been manufactured by hand and laser, and whose layered structure is most interesting. There is also the Blue Marble gown made of blue degraded spheres in the shape of a butterfly. Finally, a translucent nose accessory created by artist James Merry has been included.
