Issey Miyake SS20 >>> Colors in the open air

Once again, Issey Miyake demonstrates the Japanese essence and polish of his designs at Paris Fashion Week.

He arrived in Paris in the 1960s to implement the best of that symbiosis of Japanese architecture and fashion decade after decade. Once again, Issey Miyake demonstrates the Japanese essence and polish of his designs at Paris Fashion Week.

Issey Miyake SS20 is a conceptual exploration of nature, joy and color

In the Place des Vosges, around the statue of Louis XIII, the models paraded exhibiting Issey Miyake’s SS20 collection between live music and acrobatics. Now that the designer is retired, the brand continues to be guided by the master’s philosophy with garments that bring effortlessness to an unbeatable level of sophistication.

The fashion show, entitled “A walk in the park”, took place as a show of elegance with dancers and percussionists giving way to models on the catwalk. Vibrant colors, with monochrome looks and outfits that combined bright palettes such as green and pink or purple and yellow, have given even more color and joy to a scene of purely Parisian nature. The show proclaimed enthusiasm and good vibes, and the clothes flowed between jumps, runs and kicks to a soccer ball that transmitted a relaxed euphoria that breaks with the sobriety of the catwalks.

Oversize blazers and long tunics that inevitably evoke Japanese aesthetics were superimposed on sets of unbuttoned shirts and wide trousers. Everything was designed to play with every movement, with pleated fabrics and light knitting.
