Mr. Günter, The Cat Show’, the latest solo exhibition by the artist Javier Calleja will be on show from tomorrow until 6 September and is set to become one of the highlights of the year.
Javier Calleja, one of the most renowned international artists, has presented this morning in his homeland what is undoubtedly his largest solo exhibition to date. Mr. Günter, The Cat Show’ can be visited from 4 March to 6 September at the Centro Cultural Fundación Unicaja in the Plaza del Obispo and is organised by the Fundación Unicaja and Calleja Studio, and curated by Alicia Gutiérrez Mármol and Shinji Minamizuka.

The grandiose halls of the Centro Cultural Fundación Unicaja host the most complete selection of drawings, paintings, sculptures, editions and
most complete selection of drawings, paintings, sculptures, editions and processes ever exhibited. On your tour, you will find an overview of the artist’s always dynamic practice in his studio, his interesting collaborations with different brands and artists, as well as a compendium of his editions, both sculptural and printed. Visiting “Mr. Günter, The Cat Show” is an immersive experience into the creative universe of the Malaga-born artist.
Throughout the rooms, a wide selection of his latest large-scale sculptures can be seen. large-scale sculptures that have been exhibited in different places around the world in the last five years, as well as different versions of his cat, Mr. Günter, the character around which the show revolves and who assumes the role of the perfect “host” of the exhibition; sculptures of heads and the acclaimed ‘Little Maurizio’ (2019), ‘Thinking boy’ (2019), ‘Mickey Mouse’ (2021) and ‘Pencil boy’ (2018). The latter is the main piece around which a large installation is articulated.

It can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 14:00.
