Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial verdict

The jury concluded that there was defamation by Johnny Depp and by Amber Heard, although not of the same calibre.

After weeks of public exposure of their privacy, of a trial with opposing and incompatible testimony, the jury has concluded that there was defamation on both sides, although not of the same calibre.

The jury has ruled that Amber Heard must pay $15 million (around 14 million euros) to Johnny Depp and that the actor must pay the actress $2 million (around 1.9 million euros). But beyond the amounts, the actor emerges as the winner against his ex-wife.

The jury agreed in concluding that Heard had engaged in defamation and had acted with “malice”. It also found that the evidence presented by the actress’s lawyers did not prove the abuse she alleged she had received from Depp. For her part, Heard was able to prove that she had been defamed by Depp’s lawyer, Adam Waldman.
