Jonathan Anderson creative director of the spanish firm Loewe, yesterday paraded on the catwalk in London with his brand of the same name, JW Anderson. The new collection of the english designer recovers the style of the early twentieth century for 2019.
Anderson proposes a collection for the Autumn/Winter 19 season with strong lines and contrasting dimensions. Inspired by english high society women’s clothing of the early twentieth century, corset to define and emphasize the waist of women, for it, highlighted the lower part, large volumes in the skirts with cancanes or crinolinas, and the upper part with details on the shoulders and lantern sleeves.
Jonathan Anderson‘s idea has not been to go back and again frame the woman between the bars of the corset, but has been influenced by the structures of the time, forms in eight reinforcing a clear division of the female body into two parts.
A focal point are the extra-large belts; the gaze does not start from top to bottom, but from the centre, then up and then down, without noticing we have been able to capture more details of the collection.
The lantern sleeves have been replaced by the shoulder straps, extra-long sleeves and also, in the bombacho style. Layers of different heights.
The volume of the lower part is made in a natural way with hems and folds. Pants with very wide tweezers that provide more centrality to the waist. In addition, an original detail has been the headdresses with caps.

A light and fluid collection in some of Anderson’s designs, but others with less movement. A reminder of previous fashion but adapted and evolved to the present, elegant and sophisticated.
JW Anderson paraded in the fashion week of his native country with all the presence of his style care and authentic quality in the design.
