Kim Kardashian damaged Marilyn Monroe’s original dress

The original dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 for John F. Kennedy’s birthday and worn by Kim Kardashian at this year’s Met Gala is damaged.

It was an exclusive Jean Louis design, custom-made for the iconic Monroe, which Kim rescued for fashion’s biggest night. And although she only wore it on the red carpet (she wore a copy for the rest of the gala), it was enough to cause some damage.

The Instagram account @marilynmonroecollection posted before and after pictures of the celebrity wearing it this morning. In them, you can see tears in the brooch area as well as missing crystals and considerable stretching in the fabrics.
