After the launch of the “Muscle Memory” collection for SS21, Namesake is back with “Contour Line”, the line for this autumn/winter inspired by his father’s style and golf.
The Namesake brothers present “Contour Line”, a collection that examines the luxurious lifestyle of basketball players outside of their professional environment. In addition, the label continues to celebrate the two biggest inspirations in his life, farming and basketball.
Exactly, this collection combines elements of Michael Jordan‘s off-court style, especially when he played golf in his spare time, with the formal wear of the designers’ father. “Contour Line” is a mix of vintage and sportswear with a futuristic look.
“Growing up understanding our father’s formal style, we thought it would be interesting to add a technical element of the golf bag to create additional volume in the garments. We worked on creating a futuristic preppy style by deconstructing vintage elements of golf and wine culture,” says Namesake.
The large coats made of multiple materials take references from workwear and agricultural clothing. On the other hand, details such as the use of yellow, green or checks together with the crest motif are reminiscent of the style of the rich and their star sport, golf.
