After launching its latest collection with Studio Ghibli last month, Levi’s presents its “Made in Japan” line, consisting of several classic denim models and a patchwork trucker jacket.
“Made in Japan” includes three iconic Levi’s models: the 501, the 505, and the 511, each in different indigo washes. The highlights of this new line are the matching jacket and pants, both with arrow-shaped denim panels and details such as an inner Japanese flag tab.
All models are made with selvedge denim from the Kaihara factory in Hiroshima, famous for its artisanal technique that uses a woven band to seal the ends of the denim, resulting in a higher quality finish and a slow weave that is highly prized in Japan.
The new collection will be available starting Friday, August 4 on the Levi’s website and in select stores.
In other fashion news, Jean Paul Gaultier and KNWLS will design a joint collection.
