LG announced last April that it would be leaving the smartphone sector. Well, it is now a reality. The company is shutting down its entire smartphone business after completing its contractual obligations.
LG‘s latest range of smartphones was officially launched in January, shutting down the production and manufacturing line. The closure is due to the company‘s financial losses in the sector.
Although LG Electronics will cease mobile phone production, it will continue to sell stock through four years of after-sales service. In addition, those who buy one of its phones will be able to receive up to three years of updates to the Android operating system.
