Directed by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, Italian art magazine TOILETPAPER Magazine is known for its provocative and eye-catching approach, making it the perfect match for the art-inspired Parisian fashion brand.
Drawing inspiration from Longchamp’s classic symbols and distinctive motifs, the creative team has given the iconic Le Pliage bags a new lease of life. The collection features five unique designs in vibrant colors such as “Candy Pink”, “Sky Blue” and “Sunshine Yellow”, and is complemented by a silk ribbon and a TOILETCHAMPLONGPAPER key ring.
Elements of the brand’s Parisian heritage are manifested in this collaboration in a renewed form; they have depicted the iconic horse floating in the clouds, making it appear independent, light and full of an emotional spirit.
“We try to work with contemporary codes that allow us to surprise the public. We want to help them see their surroundings with a new perspective. In this collaboration with LONGCHAMP, we wanted to play with French and Maison icons to bring them back. Each image can be seen from different angles, there is no single message,” shared Pierpaolo Ferrari.
“At Longchamp, we are always inspired by the meeting point between art and fashion. We were really excited by TOILETPAPER’s unique way of combining art, fashion and pop culture references with a dose of humor. We felt that its bold aesthetic and light-hearted approach to life matched LONGCHAMP’s colorful vision of optimistic luxury,” added Sophie Delafontaine, creative director of the house.
