Nate Lowman’s bullet holes go through Supreme

Following the launch of its long-awaited collection with Burberry, Supreme is now preparing another collaboration with artist Nate Lowman.

Following the launch of his highly anticipated collection with Burberry, Supreme is now preparing another collaboration with artist Nate Lowman.

Considered one of the most important figures of the “Neo-pop” movement, Nate Lowman collaborates with the New York urban fashion brand for spring/summer 2022. In this new collection, the pair have created a selection of products that play with each other’s codes.

For those unfamiliar with Nate Lowman, he is an American-born artist from Las Vegas, Nevada and raised in Idyllwild, Nate transforms signs and symbols found in everyday life, most identifiably the bullet hole.

The artist’s bullet hole first debuted in 2005 and has been reinterpreted in a variety of media over the years. Starting with a car decal with this hole that a friend found at a gas station in Texas, Lowman enlarged and silkscreened the motif onto a canvas.

The release, consisting of a waistcoat, jumper, short-sleeved shirt, hoodie and painter’s trousers, features Lowman’s work. “I was very interested in how you could attach violent content to a very peaceful surface of geometric abstraction.”

The Nate Lowman x Supreme Spring 2022 collaboration will be available exclusively through the streetwear website on March 17 at 11 am EDT in the United States and March 19 at 11 am JST in Japan.
