Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Autumn/Winter 2022 collection recently had its second runway show, but this time in Bangkok, Thailand.
The decision to showcase the collection in a second location honours Virgil Abloh‘s legacy. Like the first show, the collection was brought to life in a Louis Dreamhouse. Opening the show was a cinematic prelude by director Sivaroj Kongsakul that portrayed the experience of an 11-year-old boy in rural Thailand.
“We could go to India, Kansas or Cuba, but wherever we go, the focus is youth: the stage of your life before you’ve been taught or programmed to do, think or use certain things,” Abloh said. “And in that study, you realise that teenagers on opposite sides of the world are dealing with the same things. It reflects the fact that, fundamentally, we are all one.”
Like the first presentation in January this year, the collection marks the eighth and final installment of Abloh’s tenure at Louis Vuitton. In addition to the eye-catching ensembles that have already made their debut, the Bangkok show included nine never-before-seen looks.
