Magliano FW21 is a breath of fresh air for traditional Italian fashion. Its garments combine tradition and modernity, past and future, and now, death and life. With a touch of hooliganism and a rich cultural background from its roots, the Bolognese brand presents its latest collection entitled “Forever”.
Death, life, Cesare Pavese, Togliatti’s funeral or Villa Arconati are some of the infinite number of references that form part of Luchini’s imaginary for the new collection. The Italian firm does not fail to treat the stereotypical ideal of virility with irony. Playing at combining the most classic elements of our wardrobe with the most current trends.
In Magliano FW21, his predilection for haute couture and straight lines once again predominates. But with each new collection, Luchini goes one step further, exploring new shapes and materials for his two-piece suits. These more formal garments contrast with denim, vintage leather jackets, monochrome looks and unstructured jumpers.
His designs become portals connecting life and death through the representation of an unplanned funeral – the idyllic opportunity to wear a Magliano look. A dark and ironic scenario in which attendees dressed in earth tones witness and celebrate the death of a fallen angel under the frescoes of Villa Arconati.
In “Forever” the obsession with Italian art and culture is still present. This time Luca delights us with the poem “Death will come and it will have your eyes” by Cesare Pavese, which is about love and death: the common thread of the collection. “Death will come and it will have your eyes. It will be like giving up a vice, like looking in the mirror, like seeing a dead face, like listening to a lip already closed. Mute, we will descend into the abyss”.
