Marni FW20 is asymmetrical, colourful, young and musical – especially rave. This was a show about dance as liberation, and as a distraction from chaos; about embracing the joy and creativity of art even in the most turbulent of political climates.
Francesco Risso, for the men’s collection of Marni (@marni) FW20, focuses on a fluid gender project. The creative director of La Maison creates a colourful défilé, putting on stage a true radiance of colours and prints.
The man from Marni’s next autumn/winter 2020-21 wears knitwear with optical play mixed with hearts and soft geometries.
Staging was an indispensable part of the concept. A presentation in which the models moved, as if in a trance, around a dimly lit atmospheric space, full of iron tunnels, and finally gathered in circles when the performance reached its climax.
RRisso highlights a new concept in clothing. Cuts, seams and lines never seen before in the house. The designer is setting a new milestone in Marni’s heritage with a completely different vision. Finding, researching in the archives, allows Francesco to elaborate the new image of the Italian company, focusing also on the genderless.
A new step that consolidates Riso‘s vision, a playful and genuinely innovative proposal in its celebration of disheveled and faded beauty.
