Maximilian Davis offered a fresh perspective to the luxury house of Ferragamo on his debut last season, and even though expectations were not low, he has once again demonstrated his expertise in FW23.
After graduating from the London College of Fashion and launching his own label at the age of 25, Davis took over as Creative Director of Ferragamo in 2022 from Paul Andrew.
At Milan Fashion Week, the designer’s second runway show was set to techno beats and sounds of a beating heart, reflecting the energy and spirit of this sophisticated yet modern collection. Ferragamo’s signature red is seen in both complete looks and accessories, as well as in much of the stitching on jackets and coats. Black and muted gray dominate the looks, and Davis also works in this range with bright yellows and blues, as well as burgundy, silver and gold.
The collection includes outerwear comprised of detachable hoods and asymmetrical closure mechanisms. Men’s suits hint at a second layer under subtle tears, and fitted jackets are paired with shorts. The designer incorporates luxurious motifs into sportswear, and jackets are adorned with large high collars, paired with bolder leather pants.
And in other FW23 news… Giuliano Calza shows a new vision of GCDS.
