Maison Margiela’s second line, MM6 Maison Margiela, has returned to the runways of Milan Fashion Week (MFW) to present its latest Spring/Summer 2022 collection, after a hiatus due to the pandemic and Covid-19. This latest line aims to capture the rebelliousness of surrealist artists such as Claude Cahun and Leonora Carrington, transforming everyday objects into playful fashion.
Held in a Milanese bistro and with a collection made up of 28 looks and a chromatic range of white, black, red and green tones, the Margiela team presented a collection in which, as we can see at first glance, there is a clear protagonist. Which one? The checkerboard print.
This print we are referring to, we can see how the brand is strongly committed to it, as it is used in the vast majority of its garments and accessories. Everything points to this print becoming one of the clear trends for the coming season. Finally, we should also point out that the collection also experimented with “trompe l’oeil”, a technique widely used by the surrealists.
