Namilia presentó en la NYFW un show de los que nos tiene acostumbrados: exagerado y lleno de sorpresas.
Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl – the brand’s designers – showed us a forceful collection in which religion, gothic aesthetics, red and black took over. The show was inaugurated by Paris Hilton, who walked around with red, bulging angel wings combined with spectacular red vinyl trousers. The show was also joined by Teyana Taylor who toured the runway with a pair of similar wings. Both closed the show together with the Berlin based designers.
The aesthetics halfway between a 2000’s rave party and bsdm-gothic reminded us of one of our favorite national brands: Maria Ke Fisherman.
With a feminist background throughout the collection – some pieces included the phrase “In Namilia’s Name We Pray Awomen” – and a confusing dichotomy between religion and the sexy outfits convinced critics as well as consolidating her unique aesthetics and concept at NYFW.
