Neopop Festival 2023: final line-up announced

The Portuguese festival will celebrate its 16th edition between the 10th and 12th of August and has announced its definitive line-up by days.

The last edition of Neopop Festival was a milestone in its history, gathering the largest number of attendees in its history in Forte de Santiago da Barra. This year, in its 16th edition, it will take place on 10, 11 and 12 August in the same place, Viana do Castelo. A unique space that brings together the best of the cultural, geographical, gastronomic and ethnographic heritage of the area.

This year’s Neopop Festival headliner will be Richie Hawtin, a British artist who has earned recognition for his work in music but also in art and technology. Charlotte de Witte also joins the line-up, making her debut at the festival for the first time. Other essential names on the contemporary scene such as Honey Dijon, ARTBAT, Ben Klock, Dax J, Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna, Nina Kraviz and Rødhåd, among others, will also be present.

And that’s not the end of Neopop’s news, the Portuguese festival has also created Neoverse. It is a visual aesthetic campaign directed by Studio Bruto with the collaboration of Serafim Mendes specifically designed for Neopop Festival 2023. A sort of narrative fiction that embodies the spirit of Neopop and fuses it with a digitally produced hyperreality.

The idea stems from the growing interest in concepts related to the metaverse, the use of Artificial Intelligence tools and the impact of technology on everyday life. In this sense, Neopop perfectly represents the impulse to include digitally enhanced experiences that show the interaction between technology and humans within these types of environments.
