New Balance is celebrating: its Made in UK 991 celebrates its 20th anniversary

The New Balance Made in UK 991 was first launched in 2001. The brand is commemorating their anniversary with a special pack.

The New Balance Made in UK 991 was first launched in 2001. It is a cult model that is now 20 years old. To commemorate this milestone, the brand has released a special anniversary pack.

The origins of the New Balance Made in UK 991 can be traced back to the brand‘s British factory in Flimby, Cumbria. There, its workers conceived this model that was part of the 99x series. These sneakers were pioneers in featuring an ABZORB window in the front and were the predecessors of the 990v2 model. Now, the cult silhouette turns 20 years old and New Balance is celebrating with the release of an anniversary pack.

Over the years, the 991 has become an icon and a footwear reference for artists, creatives and industry personalities worldwide. Its original design stood out for its improved midsole, aerodynamic toe cap and great comfort. In addition, despite being two decades old, the aesthetics that characterize them continue to be current.

The sneakers that will be part of this special edition, M991ANI and W991ANI, will be available in selected stores starting in February. The collection will be expanded as the year progresses, not only to commemorate its anniversary, but also to recognize the work of those who contributed to it. In doing so, New Balance will pay tribute to the 20 years of craftsmanship and commodity that have passed since then.

The New Balance Made in UK 991 will be available for both men and women starting February 26.
