New Balance unveils new colourway of the ‘1906 Loafer’ silhouette

Japanese designer Junya Watanabe puts a contemporary twist on the 1906 silhouette without betraying the essence of New Balance.

New Balance unveils new colourway of the ‘1906 Loafer’ silhouette

Inspired by New Balance’s 1906R model, the moccasin version in collaboration with the designer debuted at Paris Fashion Week for men at Japanese designer Junya Watanabe’s FW24 show. The loafer became one of the most eye-catching pieces for its perfect fusion of aesthetics and functionality. The creative union between New Balance and Junya Watanabe has been giving us some of the most discreet and elegant trainers on the scene for years.

Following the success of the model, New Balance has introduced a new colourway for the 1906L silhouette. The hybrid trainer features an upper that takes the form of a classic loafer in green leather combined with the classic New Balance 1906R mesh and penny toe cap segment. Technical contrast is introduced in the toe guards, midsole and outsole of the New Balance 1906 that finishes off the design with a chunky look.

Specific details on pricing and release dates for the 1906L have not yet been revealed online, however, more news on the silhouette is expected to arrive soon on New Balance‘s social media.

This was the Junya Watanabe x New Balance silhouette that debuted at PFW.
