A silhouette that will mark a before and after in the footwear cushioning revolution that the sports giant started more than three decades ago.
Through a platform reimagined for self-expression and the feeling of walking on air comes the Air Max DN, with unparalleled looks and built on Dynamic Air technology. What is this? The new Nike Air dual-chamber, four-tube unit that offers increased comfort, rebound and a much smoother stride. Both pressurised chambers are specially tuned with higher pressure in the rear tubes (15 psi) and lower pressure in the front (5 psi), allowing air to flow freely with movement.
“We call it dynamic movement,” says Nike Lifestyle Footwear product manager Reggie Hunter. “The independent configuration of the chambers means the air unit can respond to your body’s load with every step. The heel-to-toe feel is perfect because the air unit interacts in real time with your foot and moves with you,” he adds.
The Air Max DN was developed by the designers, engineers and scientists at Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation (Air MI) and the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) who, in addition to creating the impressive Dynamic Air unit, gave the silhouette a highly appealing look and a unique identity. They drew on more than three decades of Air Max science and cutting-edge manufacturing methods.
In this way, the shoe is made up of thoughtful details that provide all-day comfort and style. A TPU clip in the arch provides structure and support around the midfoot, and a TPU heel counter supports the Achilles tendon. Injected Phylon foam surrounds the air unit, ensuring a maximum level of comfort, while the rubber outsole wraps the heel for traction and durability.
The upper is composed of a modern fabric with a silicone-like secondary layer, resulting in haptic and textured impressions. The air unit works in tandem with all other components of the silhouette, designed with the same level of innovation, science and research that goes into Nike‘s high-performance models.
The All Night colourway, as well as additional colourways, will arrive on nike.com on 26 March to celebrate Air Max Week 2024. They will also be available through SNKRS and select retailers worldwide.
