You’ll have to look twice at Our Legacy’s new “Snow in April” collection, which adapts typically wintry garments to warm weather.
“I’ve always liked the idea of watching horror movies during the day in the summer to soften their intention,” says Cristopher Nying, creative director of Our Legacy. “The mix of the film’s visuals and the fading, overexposing sunlight inspired the prints present in the collection.”
This collection is as unpredictable as the weather in Stockholm: seemingly warm days can suddenly turn cold. The knitwear presented by the Swedish brand is covered with winter and traditional motifs, but being thin and light so that they can be worn all year round.
The cool, dry color palette tricks the eye into thinking these are winter garments, but in reality they are designed just to look like it; they are fully functional and modular.
Bold graphic tees feature splashes of Japanese horror movie visuals, which are also paired with thick metal chains, leather bracelets and cotton wraps that add the gore touch. Meanwhile, denim shapes are inspired by workwear, incorporating the brand’s patented “Chain-Twill” denim, which provides a comfortable and cozy, jogger-like texture.
On the other hand, this was JW Anderson SS24: the liberating act of starting from scratch.
