Our Legacy’s new bags are hand-woven by Sarah Murkes and made from leftovers from the brand’s collections. Shirts, sweaters, denim, nylon, silk and leather… the use of recycled material makes each piece unique.
Sarah Murkes started this project of her own using old clothes from her home. The first bag she made this way was made from her father’s old vintage jeans she found in the attic.
Later, Christopher Nying, one of the founders of Our Legacy, gave her Harley Davidson t-shirts he had lying around. The artist cut the shirts to form the “yarn” and assembled them by crocheting. Her goal was to give the garments a new life by leaving the labels, prints and stitching visible.
The bags were presented in SS23 collection at Milan Fashion Week. All of them are made from scraps found in the headquarters with a color palette similar to that of the garments in the collection.
Our Legacy Crochet Bags are available in stores and online through the brand’s website.
