Pantone’s Very Peri now a NFT thanks to Polygon1993

Pantone teams up with the Polygon1993 team to create a first NFT sweepstakes inspired by Very Peri, the ultimate colour of 2022.

We are talking about Pantone‘s first intervention in the digital universe of NFTs, in collaboration with the artist Polygon1993. To celebrate, the company that identifies, compares and communicates colour for the graphic arts is raffling off nine digital files based on the Very Peri.

Techniques involving digital tools as well as analogue cameras have been used in its creation. The aim is to create circuit bending: still images based on movement combined with the three-dimensional and transgressive style of the Parisian artist.

“When I first saw PANTONE® 17-3938 Very Peri, I was immediately transported back to my childhood. The blue and red undertones gave the colour a retro feel that inspired me to incorporate nostalgic effects that take people back in time. With digital tools, I was able to create something new that takes the old and makes it new and futuristic,” says Polygon1993.

 

The first installment of the NFTs is free and has been available since yesterday. Three more files will be released today, Thursday 10, while the third installment of Polygon1993‘s NFTs will be available from Friday 11 through Monday 14 March at SXSW 2022.
