An exclusive book showcasing the jewellery collection designed by Pharrell Williams has been launched just before the start of Paris Fashion Week.
Published by Rizzoli, the personal catalogue showcases what Pharrell describes as “an expensive habit of his” and captures the importance of jewellery in his life. More than 100 pieces customised and designed by the multifaceted artist range from the iconic gemstone-covered N.E.R.D. Brain pendants in collaboration with Louis Vuitton and Jacob & Co. to renterpretations of Casio G-Shock watches. It also includes personal conversations with his partner and friend NIGO and with Yoon Ahn of AMBUSH, with whom he shares his passion for jewellery and who accompanied Williams at the official book launch at Cravan, one of the French capital’s leading cocktail bars.
“Like everything else he’s done, Pharrell Williams has innovated within this fashion space [hip-hop jewellery]: the use of colour in pendants, the incorporation of natural and man-made diamonds to create colour and texture…” says Ian Luna of the publisher.
‘Pharrell: Carbon, Pressure & Time: A Book of Jewels’ will be available from tomorrow 26 September at Rizzoli‘s flagship store at 1133 Broadway (New York) and also online at different platforms such as Amazon.
