A new group has burst onto the Madrid underground music scene: Por las Noches. A quartet born in days of confinement and post-pandemic, and which emerged almost by chance.
Its members are regulars in the nights of Malasaña and the concert halls of the capital: Luis Basilio, from Los Nastys; Álex de Lucas, from The Parrots; producer Raúl Santos and Edu Por Las Noches. Bolero punk, psychedelic bossa, pure Latin heart. The name is a declaration of intentions of what you can expect from Por las Noches: honest, direct and very festive.
And despite the fact that they were already known on the scene (De Lucas and Santos had already worked together on the soundtracks for ‘Cardo’ and ‘La Ruta’), it was chance and a common feeling of dislike that worked the miracle. The sequence of events triggered, in the words of Por Las Noches, was as follows: “Edu had been writing for some time and showed us his ideas. A few days later, the pandemic placed Luis and Álex in a hostel in Madrid, where Raúl’s soundsystem was. With a lot of free time and broken hearts, they finished these songs”.
Their calling card is, precisely, a lament with a touch of sarcasm about the drama of falling out of love. A rogue bolero produced by Raúl Santos and titled ‘Para nada’, which has been released on the La Estrella Records label and is already available to listen to on Spotify.
A highly addictive single that stands as just an appetizer of what is to come. Coming soon to your favourite music platforms and concert venues.
