Prada has presented its Resort 2020 proposal at The Piano Factory, Prada’s New York office complex. A clear message permeated the entire proposal: there is beauty in simplicity.
Prada plays proportions in its Resort 2020.
It’s been a collection where there’s a lot to dig into. Pleated cotton skirts, high collar shirts, mannish jackets, bomber jackets or baseball shirts made up the base of the look.
In terms of proportions a mix of the fifties and eighties – partly rockabilly, partly new-wave it-girl – became protagonists. Among the new bets are the oversize sleeveless cricket jerseys that fall on the striped pleated skirts, the cotton suits that perfectly combine the feminine silhouette with the utilitarian details – a trend that is vindicated-.
Prada has played the proportions, the shirts were stretched to the extreme. They were long enough to be worn as dresses, however the Italian house chose to superimpose them on the skirts – which dominated the presentation -.
Of particular note are the headgear that wore many of the models.
Prada Resort 2020
Prada continues to increase its position with respect to the rest of the market. This time it shows us that less is more and that a set of proportions intelligently applied elevates the look to another level.
A proposal in which the minimum effort becomes the maximum impact. These are clothes you can live with and this is, without a doubt, clothes for life.
