Proenza Schouler repudiates homewear and embraces new formality

Proenza Schouler presents its autumn/winter 22 collection during the first day of New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

On the verge of 20 years in the industry, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough have once again made their proposal for the brand they both founded and creatively direct, Proenza Schouler, one of the most applauded of the first day of the latest edition of New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

Held in one of the main halls of the Brant Foundation and with the sound of violins in the background, the creations of both designers began to be revealed little by little, leaving aside the vibrant colours and the island atmosphere that predominated in their previous collection.

On this occasion, black and white were the clear protagonists of P.S.’s autumn/winter 22, accompanied by a wide range of neutral tones and some touches of colour, such as red, yellow and blue. As for the silhouettes of the collection, as soon as we saw it, we could see how the waists have been marked, both in the tailored garments and in the (soft) dresses, but also how the volumes and the balloon skirts have returned to the present. As a result of these features, the brand has offered a more elegant version, embracing a new formality and repudiating homewear. All of these looks were accompanied by foot-shaped shoes and patent leather ankle boots and maxi bags.

We’re sure the designer duo will successfully reach 20 years in the industry and celebrate with a collection to remember, like every one they make.
