Puma collaborates again with Dapper Dan on "Clyde Pre-Game Runway"

Daniel Day, better known in the fashion world as Dapper Dan, has teamed up with PUMA to launch the “Clyde Pre-Game Runway” collection.

The introduction of haute couture to the hip hop world in the 1980s is credited to Dapper Dan’s Harlem design workshop, Dapper Dan’s Boutique. Today, Puma x Dapper Dan continues to revolutionise streetwear. The collaboration is inspired by the idea of a runway show and combines Puma’s sporting tradition with Dapper Dan’s exquisite tailoring. In these Clyde’s, luxurious, recycled aesthetics are complemented by knitted materials, couture patterns and bold colours.

In case you don’t already know where Dapper Dan fits into the industry, Dan began his reign in Harlem, where he made his name as a couturier known as the “king of knockoffs”. He first came to fame in the late 80s and early 90s, providing bespoke and reworked luxury products for celebrities from all walks of life. Chances are you’ve seen some of his work for Gucci, GAP or perhaps his latest 2022 Puma runway looks.

50 years ago, hip-hop rewrote the rules of fashion, and in this latest Puma collaboration with Dapper Dan they want to celebrate. This #PUMAxDAPPERDAN release is an explosion of pure style revolution, crafted to perfection. With this collection, the pair aim to continue their mission of fusing high fashion and casual wear. Each pair of trainers features intricate embroidery, layers of suede and textile, and tabs that open to present a hidden pocket of sorts.
