In an interview on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, Rainn Wilson, known for his role as Dwight Schrute on the series ‘The Office,’ opened up about his experience on the show, revealing that he spent several years feeling “almost unhappy”.
Wilson confessed that at the time he wanted to become a “movie star” and that being on a hit show like ‘The Office’ was not enough for him. Despite working with a talented cast and gaining recognition, the actor expressed that he dreamed of a career in film and wondered why he wasn’t achieving that level of success. In his own words, “it wasn’t enough.”
The actor reflected on how he clung to the idea of making more money and becoming a movie star. Despite receiving Emmy Award nominations and enjoying the success of the show, Wilson confessed that he never felt satisfied and was constantly looking for more. However, he also acknowledged that the “never enough” mentality has long been part of human nature and has propelled our species to significant achievements.
On the other hand, this is what ‘The Idol’ was going to be like in Amy Seimetz’s original version.
