Zalando has announced that RANRA is the winner of its fourth Zalando Sustainability Award in partnership with Copenhagen Fashion Week.
RANRA impressed the jury with an unexpected mix of colours and textures on the catwalk, which is unusual for more sustainable shows, creating a very avant-garde show. The jury liked that the brand designed its genderless collection with longevity in mind, as many of the garments are adaptable and versatile.
This is the fourth season of a three-year strategic partnership between Zalando and Copenhagen Fashion Week, with the aim of creating a more responsible fashion industry and supporting Zalando’s do.MORE strategy. The Zalando Sustainability Award aims to encourage fashion brands to explore more sustainable alternatives and recognise strategies that contribute to a better future for the planet.
The collection was highlighted by the brand’s local supply chain, with all fabrics sourced from Italy. The mix of fabrics and textures was unexpected, making each piece a sensation on the catwalk. RANRA will receive a €20,000 prize and a partnership with Zalando to develop a collection that takes advantage of the most sustainable design solutions in terms of materials, production processes, technological solutions and traceability.
The finalist collections of the Zalando Sustainability Award were presented at the Copenhagen Fashion Week press area from 9-12 August 2022. The collections have also been showcased in the Zalando Greenhouse, a digital showroom that allows consumers from all over the world to watch the shows live. Other exclusive content will be available in the Greenhouse, such as the panel discussion held on Wednesday 10 August.
