Saint Laurent SS24: a display of opulence and elegance

Paris Fashion Week has begun, marking the close of the Spring/Summer 2024 calendar. On its second day, the Belgian-Italian designer held a runway show loaded with opulence and power at the Eiffel Tower.

For his SS24 collection, Vaccarello brought together an audience of friends, family and celebrities, including the likes of Kate Moss, Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz, to witness a show that encapsulated Saint Laurent’s unmistakable style. The designer paid tribute to the House’s foundations, exploring its 70-year legacy through relaxed, sensual and elegant outfits.

Vaccarello found his inspiration in historic female pilots and aviators, immortalizing their impressive skills in a dynamic collection that emphasized functionality. Jumpsuits with pockets cinched at the waist followed by khaki pants and button-down tank tops combined masculinity and femininity. Oversized sunglasses and caps offered protection from the wind, while leather gloves were designed with aircraft control in mind.

Sheer tops that enhanced the feminine figure were complemented by safari-style jackets and pleated pants in shades of burgundy, brown and cream. Unbuttoned shirts and cargo-style dresses showcased classic cuts, while shiny satin dresses boasted plunging necklines.
