Next July, Marrakech will host the presentation show of Saint Laurent’s SS23 menswear collection.
The imperial city in western Morocco has had a special relationship with the French fashion house since the 1960s. This is because Yves Saint Laurent himself acquired a property there, which he kept throughout his life, soaking up the country’s culture and reflecting it in his designs. The Museo Yves Saint Laurent was founded in Marrakech by the designer himself, who also acquired the Majorelle Garden with his friend and business partner Pierre Bergé.
Now, under the creative direction of Anthony Vacarello, Saint Laurent has moved away from the Paris Fashion Week calendar to present men’s collections in different destinations. We have been able to enjoy incredible shows in New York, Malibu and Venice. Now it’s the turn of Marrakech, which will host the SS23 show on 15 July, coinciding with an exhibition celebrating the “love story with Morocco”.
