Copenhagen-based brand Samsøe Samsøe presents the lookbook for its upcoming Spring/Summer 2022 menswear collection. The capsule transcends trends and draws inspiration from the Scandinavian spirit and the brand’s beginnings in Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter.
Entitled “Chasing the Sun”, the Danish brand’s latest venture travels between the 70s and 80s with contemporary prints, nostalgic patterns and updated jacquards. The colour combinations evoke the joy of the 70s and the classic vibes of the 80s, which is embodied in shirts, knitwear, overshirts, pin-up trousers and more.
“For me, the collection is about explorations, journeys and freedom,” explains Gitte Wetter, director of Samsøe Samsøe. “The freedom we have all lost in the past year and the journeys we will be able to take again so soon. The new relationships we will gain and the search for newness we all long for. I really wanted to convey the feeling of positivity and longing for summer, and with the colours and silhouettes of this collection, I think we achieved that.”
The SS22 collection called “Chasing the Sun” follows sustainability parameters and 81% of the materials used are of responsible origin. This decision is one more step towards its 2024 goal, which is based on making all its collections 100% recyclable materials.
“Chasing the Sun” will be launched on 13 January and will be available through the Samsøe Samsøe webshop.
