Winner of the CNMI Fashion Trust Grant and the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designer in 2023, the Japanese designer will make a special presentation in Florence.
Through his brand SETCHU, Satoshi Kuwata becomes the first Guest Designer of the January 2025 edition of Pitti Uomo. His impeccable cultural background, nurtured by his experiences in Kyoto, Paris, Milan, London and New York, has led him to adopt a unique approach where different cultures coexist. An enriching contrast that is reflected in his designs and is rooted in the DNA of his brand, which he uses to establish connections between Japan and the West.
‘I am honoured and excited to present SETCHU’s first runway show at Pitti Uomo this coming January. I am looking forward to showcasing my collection and sharing it with such a knowledgeable audience. I will be working on the concepts of versatility, timelessness, craftsmanship and functionality that mean so much to me to create something truly special, and although there is a long way to go, I can’t wait to be there in a few months time. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Pitti immagine for this opportunity,’ says Kuwata.
