Dune, Arrival or Interestellar are some of the references that have served as inspiration for Daniel Roseberry to design the latest Schiaparelli collection. Welcome to Planet Schiaparelli.
It is an ideal way to escape from reality. So says the creative director in an interview, arguing that sometimes it is necessary to flee to other planets. “We kept saying ‘Planet Schiaparelli’: I wanted to make something that looked totally like anyone else. Nothing else should look like this.”
The surrealistic details that are so characteristic of the fashion house are still present in most of the designs. Exaggerated patterns and metallic materials adorn large pieces such as corsets, jackets, earrings and bags. The Medusa dress stands out above all, reinterpreted through new moulding techniques with wet gold leather.
