Sónar Lisbon will celebrate its fourth edition on 11, 12 and 13 April 2025, with a weekend packed with shows and DJ sets, where the most open-minded, curious and restless audiences will be able to enjoy a unique artistic programme, focused on celebrating the present and discovering the future of dance music. Sónar Lisbon 2025 will allow you to experience two festivals in one: Sónar by Day (Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April) and Sónar by Night (Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April). Both will take place in the green surroundings of the Parque Eduardo VII, with different formats and complementary artistic programmes.
Sónar by Day will have three stages (two outdoors and one indoors), where the public will be able to enjoy, in a comfortable and relaxed environment, a wide and diverse range of sounds and formats that represent the current reality of the music and cultural scene in Lisbon and internationally. Sónar by Night, meanwhile, will offer a complete club experience on a single stage, allowing the public to explore a transgressive sound and visual programme, with artists that connect current and future club culture.
The first names in the line-up have been confirmed, including Marcel Dettmann, resident DJ at the legendary Berlin club Berghain, with his new live set ‘My Own Shadow’, the artist Nina Kraviz with her techno vitality and the new French rave star Anetha. British artist Max Cooper will arrive with a new audio-visual live set, and selector ISAbella and BASHKKA b2b Ogazón will offer two house music masterclasses.
This first preview also features artists known for breaking the mould, flowing between different genres in their sets and representing the contemporary rave spirit. This is the case of the German duo Modeselektor, with a DJ set rarely seen in the country. Another premiere in Portugal will be ‘The Hakke Show’, a show with which the Italian Gabber Eleganza pays homage to hardcore and post-rave culture accompanied by a cast of hakke dancers. The list is completed by the multidisciplinary Juliana Huxtable, the great pioneer Jennifer Cardini, the great techno, electro and rave mixer Héctor Oaks, the emerging selector Clementaum and NOIA, the unpredictable and daring JASSS and the always ultra-accelerated Amor Satyr & Siu Mata.
In a city consolidated as a benchmark for electronic music at European level, Sónar once again this year proposes an extraordinary weekend in which to dance while discovering new proposals, underground sounds from local micro-scenes and first-rate international shows that only at Sónar coexist in a natural way. All this, always in a welcoming and open atmosphere that welcomes everyone and in which the curiosity of the public is the main driving force of the festival.
As in the last two years, the festival will be fully integrated with the city in the Parque Eduardo VII, located in the heart of Lisbon and easily accessible by public transport. Its home will be the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, a building that was designed a century ago as the Pavilion of Portuguese Industries at the International Exposition in Rio de Janeiro and later moved to Lisbon to become a cultural heritage site and one of the city’s most iconic and recognisable venues.
