Spike Lee’s Air Jordan 3 “Gold Oscars” PEs to be auctioned at Sotheby’s

These sneakers were created exclusively for Spike Lee and never made it to stores.

The special edition high top features a premium metallic gold leather upper that highlights the Swoosh, elephant print and tongue. It also includes logos from Spike’s film production company, 40 Acres and A Mule Filmworks, and a distinctive oversized Jumpman logo.

The auction, which runs through December 18, 2023, will give 100% of the proceeds to the Portland Rescue Mission, an organization that has been helping the homeless and fighting addiction since 1949. The story behind these sneakers takes an unexpected twist, as they were found by a participant on the show and Tinker Hatfield authenticated them.
