Spotify continues its drive towards a technological future, launching a beta version of its new feature called ‘Group Sessions’, which will only work for premium users.

Spotify 'Group Sessions'

‘Group Sessions’ will allow the user to present a scannable code to a large number of ‘guests’, giving all users control over the ability to play, pause, skip and select or add a specific song to the group playlist. Any changes will be updated on everyone’s devices.

The number of authorized guests, as well as that freedom to add, remove and rearrange tracks could change over time in the Group Sessions, as the platform ‘will continue to evolve the experience over time based on user feedback’.

The truth is that, although it is undoubtedly rethinking if this was really necessary, Spotify never stops innovating and surprising us.
