The Italian brand, founded in 1982, had never shown in the fashion capital until this week. However, last Friday evening, the brand presented a new manifesto for fall/winter 2024, entitled “The Compass Inside,” to the fashion bigwigs.
At La Cattedrale, Stone Island let a giant black curtain slide to unveil its next season’s garments inside a giant cage. Trapped, the models remained motionless in their respective containers under changing lights throughout the show. The brand’s main pieces were shown in various models, demonstrating the brand’s affinity for ensembles and the versatility of its main shapes.
The Stone Island Ghost collection used various kinds of wool to reinvent the brand’s classics. Highlights include military-inspired jackets and one-button jackets made from 95% thick wool and 5% cashmere, both with the monochromatic “Ghost” label on the left sleeve.
Although the brand’s runway show was more of a grand presentation, Stone Island’s debut at Milan Fashion Week proved that, at the end of the day, it all comes down to design. We leave you above the staging which was incredible.
