New York artist Clayton Patterson teams up with Supreme to create an artistic capsule for the spring/summer 2021 season.
Clayton Patterson and his business partner Elsa Rensaa began to gain recognition in the mid-1980s in New York. Their shop was located at 161 Essex Street and was called Clayton Caps. There he embroidered real works of art on the sides of baseball caps using machines that were up to 100 years old, which gave his work great recognition.
Years later, the business became an art gallery that collected different works by various artists, including Dash Snow and Boris Lurie. Among the archives we can find all kinds of materials and objects such as postcards, newspaper and magazine clippings, stickers, photographs, videos and even bags of heroin.
Now, he’s teamed up with Supreme to create a capsule of trousers, hats, T-shirts and more. But the collection’s object of desire is undoubtedly the reversible MA-1 bomber jacket, the back of which is adorned with Clayton‘s signature embroidery.
The collaboration between Clayton Patterson and Supreme will go on sale on 8 April in Supreme‘s physical shops and also online. It will be available in Japan from 10 April.
