Syd dePalma premieres 'de la isla', the second preview of his new album

This cryptic project based in Madrid is presenting the second single from his upcoming album released by Raso Estudio ‘El Lugar de Arder’.

‘de la isla’ is one of those compositions that seduce at first listen thanks to a distorted and melancholic atmosphere, mixed with airs and memories of the past. A vision of personal rebirth, of the necessary overcoming to flourish again. A melody that reflects the complexity of emotions experienced during the ascension process. Syd dePalma generates a sound based on Post Punk, but that navigates between psychedelia and darkness, creating a unique listening experience that takes us from the deepest depths to the purest light that awaits within.

This would be the second advance of the album ‘El Lugar de Arder’ that perfectly captures the imaginary of the project. This universe combines the influence of the roots in Andalusia and all the arid and desert landscapes that you can find there. The artist always gives a glimpse of his origins and tries to find a balance between various elements such as light and darkness or between old and new methods of composition and production. Love, hate and fear interact alternately, resulting in personal growth and new inspiration.

“The feeling that can be transmitted is like the one who digs into a black color and brings out all those colors/emotions, from moments of maximum light and intensity, to long walks in the desert full of mirages and psychedelic thoughts attracted by hypnotic dances, or even dark moments when night falls and you don’t know how to distinguish between your strong points or your weak points but you still feel comfortable in that coming and going of sensations between good and evil. The moment of searching for a place to burn as a sensation of a future of rebirth”, explains the artist about his new project.

Milton Castellar aka Syd dePalma, previously based in Berlin and Barcelona and currently in Madrid, is known for his solo project Galera. With his works the artist has been able to offer his performances in different and important stages such as the Mutek Festival (Barcelona), opening act in Primavera Sound of Tycho in his 2017 tour in Barcelona, performing in DJSET format for Primavera Sound 2018, and performing live and in dj format in national venues such as Nitsa Club, Razzmatazz Club, Laut, Lanna Club, Sala El Sotano, etc. In addition to some DJ Sets or Lives in Berlin and in international radios like Red Light Radio (Amsterdam), HÖR (Berlin) or Noods (Leeds).
