The collaboration between LeBron James and PlayStation 5

NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James designs his own PS5 as part of PlayStation’s Playmakers initiative.

 

Playmakers is a new series from Sony that includes special collaborations with sports and entertainment celebrities such as Nigel Sylvester, Lisa Zimouche, Romelu Lukaku and Julio Cocielo. World basketball star LeBron James teams up with Sony on this occasion to design the PS5 case and Dualsense controller, filling them with symbolism of his life and career including personal elements.

“It’s still crazy to think that a kid from Akron who grew up playing games would come up with something like this. Designing a console case and controller with PlayStation that nods to my I Promise students and where we came from is pretty cool,” James states. “I hope it’s something that will continue to inspire everyone who touches it, and have a little fun finding meaning in every detail.”

This limited edition PlayStation 5 will be available for purchase at direct.playstation.com only in select countries yet to be confirmed.
