The second edition of Decentraland’s Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) arrives with the slogan “Future Heritage”, connecting the concepts of tradition and novelty.
The future of fashion is here, and after a successful first edition, we welcome back the Metaverse Fashion Week from March 28 to 31, 2023. This bridge between the real world and the metaverse, under the slogan “Future Heritage”, will focus on the most relevant designers in the fashion industry. The Decentraland and UNXD platforms are in charge of hosting this 2.0 edition in collaboration with the Spatial and OVER metaverses.
One of the great events that we will find in MVFW is the tribute to the recently deceased Vivienne Westwood, queen of fashion punk. “Dear Vivienne” is the title of this immersive installation inspired by her iconic designs. MVFW will also feature virtual showcases from brands such as Dolce & Gabanna, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Monnier Paris and DUNDAS, among others.
Adidas is also making its debut at MVFW, having its own space where it will sell its first digital clothing collection, as well as Coach, in a new Fashion Plaza. Another novelty is the interactive virtual party organized by Diesel and HAPE, including NFT wearables airpods. The digital mall Threedium repeats assistance in this second edition including Pinko, PwC and Clarks with its Clarks Arcade to play branded video games.
MVFW is committed to supporting the entry of new designers into the digital world, so it includes numerous initiatives such as design competitions. The Digital Fashion Institute will present a wearable that highlights the unsustainable consumption of physical fashion known as the “IoDF Symbol of Change”.
Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro, director of MVFW, declared in a statement her interest in witnessing the return of many luxury fashion brands, as well as including and elevating digital native fashion.
