Marc Jacobs presented his latest collection with an express show. The fashion show held at the New York Public Library lasted only three minutes in which the models made two full laps around the runway as if it were the final carousel and Jacobs came out to take a bow.
The presentation is a criticism of the automatism and frenetic pace that currently characterize the industry in which in a short period of time you have to fit a long series of proposals, which leads designers to lose quality and creativity in many occasions.
On the other hand, the notes on the collection have been created by Chat GPT and are full of superficiality, without giving great details about the line or the brand. With this, the designer invites to reflect on the inability of AI to connect with emotions and its lack of sensitivity, countering alarmist messages about the impact of AI in the sector.
Although the details of the garments could not be seen during the runway show, after observing the lookbook we know that the collection is mainly influenced by the 80s style, with seemingly masculine garments adapted to women and several avant-garde mini-dresses. On the feet we see flat shoes manoletina style and pointed toe finishes combined with black tights and white socks.
