Sotheby’s New York will auction next June a rare diamond considered to be the world’s finest pink diamond, called “Eternal Pink”, valued at $35 million. The 10.57-carat stone is being marketed as the most valuable purple-pink diamond ever auctioned, with the highest pre-auction price per carat ever estimated, setting a new record.
The diamond, which is set in a ring, has been described by experts as “brilliant” and has the highest possible rating for colour quality, defined as “Fancy Vivid”. It has the highest clarity score, which means that virtually no imperfections are visible. It is also one of the purest chemically pure diamonds of all, which contributes to its clarity.
