The Murder Capital in Bilbao? With SON Estrella Galicia it’s possible

While Estrella Galicia is the beer of choice for beer lovers, SON Estrella Galicia is the musical project for those who love music. The beer brand has planned a musical experience to end October in style. It is the live show of The Murder Capital + SOAK in Bilbao.

For almost 15 years, SON Estrella Galicia has been promoting unique musical proposals in the best venues and venues nationally and internationally and the most unique festivals to offer different and unforgettable experiences for all those who love music and beer. With October coming to an end, SON Estrella Galicia has prepared a musical experience for us on Sunday 29th October: The Murder Capital + SOAK concert at Bilborock (Bilbao).

The Irish post-punk band will be presenting their new album “Gigi’s Recovery” in Bilbao with SON Estrella Galicia. This album, produced by John Congleton, is a follow-up to their debut album, “When I Have Fears”, released in 2019, which reached the Top 20 in the UK charts, number 2 in their native Ireland and the best reviews in specialised music media. The crystalline dream pop of SOAK will accompany The Murder Capital in their show in a magical space.

Bilborock is a former 17th century convent, nowadays converted into a municipal space focused on youth and youth entrepreneurship in the Cultural and Creative Industries of Bilbao, which hosts, among others, programmes and concerts such as The Murder Capital and SOAK. In its day it was the Convent of La Merced. A religious temple designed at the end of the 17th century by the architect Antonio Ortiz de Calina, and reformed in the 18th century by José de Recolalde. Thus, it becomes the ideal setting to welcome the energy of the band with “Gigi’s Recovery” and the particularity of the Irish singer-songwriter.

Following their first album “When I Have Fears” which captured the wild essence of the quintet, “Gigi’s Recovery” takes their new sound to another dimension. Expansive guitar work from Cathal Roper and Damien Tuit is joined by the precise rhythmic foundation of drummer Diarmuid Brennan and bassist Gabriel Paschal Blake. And who adds the finishing touch? Well, clearly their singer McGovern. An old-fashioned frontman who gets up on stage and gives it his all (all is all).
