Skepta and Nike’s brand new fifth air max unveiled

Rumours about the design and appearance of the fifth collaboration between Nike and rapper Skepta were born in 2019; but it wasn’t until almost two years later that the cloche was lifted. Finally, we can take a look at the vibrant shoe that emerges from this fifth collaboration. An electrifying aesthetic from the late 1990s and early 2000s with futuristic finishes of today.

The Air Max Tailwind V SK Air 5 opens this new year with bright, warm colours under a glossy and matt black cage. The silhouette emerges as a hybrid of Skepta’s characteristic lines and the original Air Max Tailwind 5. The sneaker stands out because of the definition of the dynamic zig-zag lines in the upper area.

And the metallic detail of the brand’s emblem and the boomerang on the back make the most notable difference. The rubber sole balances the weight of the body with the integrated chambers distributed throughout the footbed.

Iridescent tongue panels and the heel/neck section enhance the attractive character of Nike’s new silhouette.
