Looks composed of paper bows, briefs combined with outerwear and a soccer dress are some of the jewels that Maisie Wilen FW23 leaves us.
Maisie Schloss, designer of Maisie Wilen, has been inspired by her own digital nativity and applies it to the off-screen world. The contrast between technology and analog endows the collection with a sarcastic component, with which Schloss intends to show the beauty of the absurd.
The fashion show begins with a paper bag as a dress, followed by looks composed of white briefs combined with oversized garments. The designer gives a nod to AI and its often nonsensical creations in this new line. Accessories and some T-shirts are covered with surprised faces simulating a glitch, and we also see the text “Lorem ipsum” repeated several times in the funny pieces.
Despite taking inspiration from everyday objects and absurd themes, the garments are carefully constructed down to the smallest detail, again showing a contrast between the ordinary and expert design.
In other FW23 news, Julien Dossena pays homage to Paco Rabanne at Paris Fashion Week.
