The Canadian artist has become the first musician to reach 30 songs with more than one billion streams each on Spotify, reinforcing his position as one of the most dominant figures in global streaming.

According to a statement shared with Complex, this achievement places The Weeknd in uncharted territory on the platform. Among his most streamed tracks are Blinding Lights, Starboy — alongside Daft PunkI Can’t Feel My Face, and Timeless, featured on Hurry Up Tomorrow with Playboi Carti.

A dominance that’s nothing new

This record adds to an already extraordinary career. The Weeknd holds seven Diamond certifications and currently attracts 120.5 million monthly listeners, placing him among the five most-streamed artists in the world on Spotify.

In 2024, the singer had already set a precedent by becoming the first artist to surpass one billion streams with 21 songs, overtaking the figure he had previously shared with Drake.

Billions Club and the farewell to an alter ego

That same year, The Weeknd partnered with Spotify for a Billions Club Concert, performing 25 songs that have each surpassed one billion streams. The show featured guests such as Teezo Touchdown and Ava Max, and was later released as a 45-minute concert film.

Meanwhile, the artist is preparing to definitively close the chapter on his stage name with the After Hours til Dawn Tour. The tour will resume its international leg in April 2026 and has already sold more than 7.5 million tickets since 2022, generating $1 billion in revenue across 153 shows.
